Stepping Forward Works
Stepping Forward Works is a FREE career pathway program for those looking to land a good job with benefits. We connect individuals to high priority occupations through industry certified training, essential skills development, and job search assistance.
The program includes:

Industry training leading to certification

Individualized skills sessions on budgeting, goal planning, and more

Connections to local employers

Resume and interview prep
-
A support system lasting beyond the training
Program qualifications:
-
18 years or older
-
Have a high school diploma or GED*
-
Be a resident of Franklin or Fulton counties
-
Pass a drug test
-
Have demonstrated financial need
*Exception: No diploma or GED needed for Carpentry

Current Course Offerings:

Carpentry
36 hours of training over 6 weeks in carpentry basics, plumbing, electricity, interior finishing, masonry, tools, and equipment. Instructed by a certified contractor with teaching experience.

Welding
150 hours of training for welding skills needed in construction, fabrication, industrial and more. Instruction prepares for MIG, STICK, and/or TIG Welding Certification.

Nurse Aide (C.N.A.)
65 hours of classroom/lab instruction and 60 hours of hands-on clinical experience at a local healthcare facility.

Refrigeration (HVAC)
33 hours of training over 4 weeks in repair of refrigeration-based processing equipment and other HVAC systems.
